Payroll Specialist to join the Team.

This role will be supporting three dealerships: Lexus of Vaughan, Maple Toyota and Maple Hyundai/Genesis

About the opportunity


As an integral part of the "we can do that" operation, and as a champion of payroll, this position is responsible to provide support to the Controller in properly managing accounting, payroll and reporting functions of the dealership.

Specifically,
- oversee full accounting and payroll cycle processes
- process and administer payroll
- process employees in the system, including onboarding, terminations, leaves of absence
- perform auditing of payroll; input reports and registers to ensure accuracy
- prepare Records of Employment, T4, T2200
- analyze, reconcile accounts for the monthly and annual closing; identify and correct accounting and payroll inaccuracies
- reconcile, process and submit government, warranty and insurance remittances (WSIB)
- perform accounts payable/receivable functions and bank reconciliations, as needed
- handle ad hoc reporting requests


About you
- at least two (2) years of Payroll and Accounting experience with a thorough knowledge of accounting and payroll practices and procedures, preferably in a dealership/retail automotive environment

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance and/or Payroll
- comprehensive knowledge of the Federal and Provincial Tax Regulations
- comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act
- experience working with ADP Workforce Now payroll is an asset
- working knowledge of ERA is an asset
- experience working with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- the ability to work within strict deadlines
- the ability to maintain internal controls
- a strong attention to detail and be organized
- the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- the ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision
