Description

Helical Pile Solutions is a deep foundations contractor with over 30 years of experience in the industry, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. ("Java"). Java staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada's largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Analyst for our growing team. Depending on candidate, this position will be based out of our Java Nisku office location or one of the Java group of companies' offices in Calgary.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the IT Infrastructure Analyst is key to the successful operation of the Network, Server, and Microsoft 365 infrastructure.

Position Summary:

Key Accountabilities:

Infrastructure – Overall

o Provide technical expertise for the setup and installation of infrastructure in line with corporate and project objectives.

o Perform installation and maintenance for all network infrastructure as well as on-premises and cloud server hardware.

o Provide support and administration for third party security applications and hardware.

o Perform regular infrastructure reviews to ensure systems are not compromised and are updated with appropriate vendor patches.

o Support the deallocation of infrastructure in line with company policy and applicable regulations.

o Track all hours in ticketing system to facilitate company billing transfers for Java IT Supported Group of Companies.

o Work collaboratively with other teams within all Java Group of Companies.

Primary Responsibility – Network

o Provide secure network solutions to integrate business units to ensure transparent and secure information access.

o Perform Firewall installation, configuration, and ongoing management.

o Perform Network Device (Switch, Router) installation, configuration, and ongoing management.

o Assist with Wireless Network Management (Access Controller, Access Points, SSID Management).

o Support secure remote access solutions including VPN.

o Ensure appropriate network services are designed, implemented, and maintained (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, IP schemes).

o Assist with SSL and Web Domain Management.

o Ensure Data Centre cleanliness and cabling standards are met.

o Support legacy phone PBX and VOIP phone systems.

Secondary Responsibility – Server

o Ensure sharing of company data is in line with policies and procedures within the Java Holdings Ltd. group and to external partners.

o Provide infrastructure support for application development for the secure storage of source code, application deployment routines, backups, and user training.

o Assist with overall Active Directory Domain Management including Local Domains and Azure Active Directory.

o Assist with Office 365 Tenant Management.

o Assist with user permission management on networked and cloud-based storage locations.

o Assist with development and implementation of server and storage device backup and retention.

o Assist with 3rd party authentications to facilitate single sign-on.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience Required:

o Post-secondary education in Computer Science or similar equivalent work experience.

o Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience with a focus on network, server and system administration.

o Solid Networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Switches & Access Points).

o Experience with Meraki, Fortinet, Dell, and Barracuda networking technologies.

o Experience in managing Windows Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.

o Experience in management of storage and data backup systems.

o Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).

o Good understanding of Cloud computing environments with a focus on Microsoft Azure and AWS.

o Experience in authentication and single sign on for hybrid environments.

Skills and Other Experience Desired:

o IT Certification e.g., MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, etc. would be considered an asset.

o Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

o Energetic, goal oriented, detail conscious and methodical in their approach to projects.

o Excellent work ethic, good written / verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively over various mediums while maintaining IT department's commitment to customer excellence.

o Experience managing multi-stakeholder, fast moving, complex projects.

o Ability to connect to company core values (Innovation, Community, Excellence, Safety).

o Positive attitude, team player, and change agent.

Other Position Requirements:

o After-hours on-call availability in accordance with company policy.

o Valid driver's license and potential use of a personal vehicle for travel.
