Description

The Sales Manager has a responsibility to develop new business relationships as well as build on existing relationships in order to achieve continued sales growth and exceed sales targets for the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites London along with its banquet and conference facilities.


Sales Responsibilities:


  • Required to maintain a strong knowledge of local market conditions and all segments with a focus on local, provincial and national associations, education, medical and government relations. Develop ongoing relationships with existing clients/accounts in order to promote long term loyalty& repeat business.
  • Through key market research identify sources of new business to attract and shift share
  • Attend community events, hotel client events, consumer trade shows and sales blitzes on behalf of the hotel to develop leads and build client base.
  • Participate in local London Chamber of Commerce events and be actively involved with local committees of your choosing.
  • Meets and/or exceeds weekly, monthly and annual sales targets
  • Sales activities to include but are not limited to outside sales calls, cold calling, & onsite client meetings
  • Negotiates, prepares and presents sales proposals & contracts to successfully close business deals with new and existing clients.

Operational Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a general understanding of all hotel department daily processes and needs to establish internal working relationships and ensure open communication for the successful execution of events and groups.
  • Prepares monthly reporting of group bookings, sales activities and next steps
  • Establishes internal working relationships with all departments to ensure open communication for the successful execution of events.
  • Attends regular meetings with Director of Sales and Marketing and team.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Provides both scheduled and unscheduled site tours of the hotel and conference centre to potential and existing clients.
  • Review of daily revenues, night manager report, etc.
  • Respond to all client inquiries in a timely manner and provide problem resolution as needed
  • Assists with local community promotions and hotel client events as required.
  • Attains competitor information when requested.
  • Works cooperatively and in alignment with all other team members to help achieve property goals.
  • Responsible to work as Manager on Duty at least one shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday

Skills & Knowledge
Required:


  • Sales experience required
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent professional and courteous communication skills, both verbal and written.

Other Conditions:


  • Regular schedule to be Monday
  • Friday but must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Understands the Marriott & Four Points Service Culture and demonstrates that understanding through the effective interactions and communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains compliance with and supports all hotel policies and procedures.
