Manager Compensation


Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, the Manager, Compensation is responsible for the day-to-day management activities regarding EVR's compensation programs.

The priority is to ensure EVR's compensation processes are competitive, cost effective, and most importantly, promote employee attraction and retention.

This position provides analytical expertise to Human Resources Services, offering guidance and interpretation of various compensation policies.

Also, within the scope of responsibility is managing the high-level project planning components relating to compensation program development, revision, and redesign.


Duties:


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Influence return of people investment through compensation strategies that achieve the desired behavioral and performance outcomes
  • Manage communication regarding compensation plans/policies to ensure the biggest return and to educate the employee population about both the content and the value of the programs being provided
  • Assess the need, prioritize, and assign direct reports to work on various issues related to compensation
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations which control or impact compensation plans and policies
  • Manage the preparation of compensation projections for company budget purposes
  • Provide Ad Hoc interpretation of company philosophy, policy and principles related to the areas of compensation
  • Support executive compensation programs for senior management, at the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources and the Director, Total Rewards
  • Participate in the decision making of compensation related priorities for Human Resources Information Systems resources
  • Oversee the annual review of all compensation for both compliance and competitiveness with the market
  • Direct the participation in salary surveys and benchmarking exercises to ensure the market competitiveness of the company's compensation programs
  • Direct all job analysis and evaluation activities to help ensure internal equity

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent education
  • Minimum ten years in a human resources management position with increased responsibility and minimum five years' experience directly related to compensation
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian laws and regulations on pay and compensation required
  • Proficient knowledge relating to all facets of compensation program development and design
  • Possess the understanding of competitive advantage and be able to develop a strategically designed approach to the creation of compensation programs
  • Prior knowledge of Human Resources Information systems, (SAP) preferred
  • CCP and or CPHR designation considered an asset

Pay:
Up to $150,000.00 per year
