    Intermediate/Senior Construction Surveyor

    This job is for a Land / Civil Surveyor in which all projects are located in remote areas across Canada

    Main Requirements

    • Must be willing to travel to remote locations across Canada to perform physical survey of the project / mine site
    • Handling, setup and operational experience with GPS equipment. DGPS (Trimble R12 or equivalent), Total Station (SX10 or equivalent), and Drone (Phantom 4 Pro or equivalent) equipment operational experience
    • Able to read and understand civil engineering drawings
    • Experience with layout, grading, topographic and as-built surveying

That's because our project sites are hardly ever in Ottawa and we are amazing at using computers and phones to communicate effectively as a team.     What will you do? Bad news is that it is work (see Responsibilities below) and so you have to be prepared to survey on a diverse portfolio of project sites at various locations in Canada, operate extended periods outdoors in inclement weather, handle tight timelines, and once and awhile, to smile. The good news is that you will always have a great sense of pride to be part of a team completing some really awesome construction projects and you will always have the newest, coolest equipment and software to create outputs that will impress the hell out of your clients.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsible as the functional lead for construction survey and drafting by carrying out the following:

    • Undertake and coordinate the planning and implementation of construction survey and drafting for heavy civil construction projects
    • Conduct and oversee survey requirements to facilitate construction activities, including modeling for and layout of critical structures for projects, and to complete as-built surveys
    • Complete data analysis from as-built surveys and quantity calculations for progress claims
    • Maintain accurate survey records and related documentation
    • Perform drafting for various drawings required for pre-construction planning, interim and close-out documentation, or similar reporting
    • Acquire, manage, and maintain survey instruments and related assets
    • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
    • Adhere to quality management systems and SOPs related to survey activities and related deliverables

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or college diploma
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a surveyor
    • Read and interpret construction drawings
    • Knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation
    • DGPS (Trimble R12 or equivalent), Total Station (SX10 or equivalent), and Drone (Phantom 4 Pro or equivalent) equipment operational experience
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of MSOffice, ACAD Civil 3D, or equivalent modeling and engineering-based drafting software
    • Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in safety and quality
    • Strong work ethic with the ability to lead a team or work individually
    • Must be physically fit, work outdoors in various weather conditions, can regularly carry 20kg of equipment
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean abstract

    Location: Various Construction Sites throughout Canada, including remote locations.
