Description of position

As a behaviour support worker, you will work directly with children providing a safe, fun, compassionate and educational environment in a variety of locations.

You will be supported and overseen by the lead Behaviour Consultant and Clinical Supervisor.

General Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, supportive, and FUN environment for learning in the clients home and the community.
Case management and report writing.
Contribute to a strong team environment.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
Some administration duties are required.

Program Specific Responsibilities:

Use teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant/Analyst and implementing teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the student's behavioural plan of intervention.
Collect data, monitoring, recording, and reviewing client progress with consultant and other team members.
Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of positive behaviour support.
Write accurate session notes and maintaining files.
Support various clients with skills related to selfadvocacy and selfregulation in a fun and meaningful way.

Qualifications:

High school diploma, two years postsecondary education in a related field preferred (psychology, education, social work, etc.)
Experience working with children with autism and experience/ability managing and responding to aggressive behaviour is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Available for work at least 20 hours/week, possibly weekends and evenings.
Valid BC driver's license.
Criminal record check required.
Reliable vehicle.
