Description
Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and execution of multi-state payroll through the payroll system, ADP PayForce.

Review and audit the calculation of pay ensuring compliance with company policies, all applicable state and federal employment as well as wage and hour laws.

Serve as first point of contact to employees in responding to payroll related questions and inquiries. Perform additional tasks and participate in projects related to payroll, HR and Finance.


This position is part of the _Finance Department_ and will be located in _71 Four Valley Drive, Concord, Ontario office.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain employee records including, but not limited to new hires, transfers, changes to pay, separations, garnishments and other deductions, into the payroll system.
  • Review and audit time and attendance for integrity, following company policies.
  • Enter information into the payroll system and processes payroll on a biweekly basis, including offcycle or manual checks as needed.
  • Prepare and submit various management and payroll reports, including the payroll distribution wire, ensuring the safeguarding of personal and confidential information.
  • Administer the payroll process for bonus programs and any other special payments.
  • Responsible for setup and system maintenance of pay programs and policies including time off programs within the payroll system.
  • Provide payroll training and support for employees and managers, both in person and virtually.
  • Respond on behalf of the company to requests for employment verification, unemployment claims, and other inquiries.
  • Prepare and provide information for any government or agency required data collection in accordance with government regulations and organizational policy.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team, Corporate Benefits, and other departments, including Property Accounting, Asset Management, and Corporate Accounting in payroll and HR related tasks and projects.
  • Process payroll from start to finish including yearend requirements.
  • Perform other payroll and HR related tasks and projects as assigned.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Completion of postsecondary education in bookkeeping, payroll administration or four years of experience in multi Province/State payroll administration position.
  • Experience with ADP Enterprise or similar HR Technology and payroll systems;
  • Ability to analyze payroll/HR system issues, create spreadsheets with formula calculations, format, produce and revise documents and reports.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Familiarity with US Labor Laws as they relate to payroll, including but not limited to: FLSA and other legislation.
