Career Opportunity:


  • Reporting to the Director, Payroll Services & HRIS, this position provides leadership, oversight and support for all Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and their relevant processes. This includes managing the establishment of the multiyear strategic action plans for the future progression and deployment of the HR system strategy and leading the development and implementation of core HR business processes and service excellence solutions that align with client needs and the TTC's technical priorities. This role will also facilitate HR system enhancements and improvements, and will actively participate in the success of HRIS optimization activities.
  • The Manager of HRIS oversees the change management cycle including communications and training related to system implementations to drive behaviour changes and adoption. Liaises with HR teams to analyze their operational needs and with a methodical approach to systems implementation and optimization, collaborates with the IT team to develop various HR system functionalities. This manager will be responsible for providing HR systems analytics and reporting support.

What You Will Do:


  • Identifies business challenges and uses data analytics to help influence changes and improvements to the operations, process or programs
  • Recommends business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs while continually exploring and assessing options for valueadd for internal clients
  • Maintains HR data integrity within and across systems, conduct tests and audits (i.e. system integrity, quality assurance and scheduled user access audits) and reconcile discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy
  • Schedules, plans, assigns and evaluates the work of staff to ensure accurate and timely module rollouts
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.

    What Qualifications Do You Bring?:
  • Completion of a college or university degree in a related discipline such as Human Resource Management or Business Administration supplemented by Information Systems training, OR a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
  • Supervisory experience in HR or Payroll
  • Considerable experience in SAP products, with broad understanding of HR Systems, cross functional touchpoints and their impacts within the SAP platform.
  • Experience in designing and prototyping, testing and implementing practical HR business solutions.
  • Human Resources experience in large organizations and unionized setting.
  • Experience maintaining data integrity within and across systems, conduct system audits and reconcile discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy.
  • Experience with report writing and database management.
  • Demonstrated experience with successfully introducing change into an organization through the implementation of systems.
  • Demonstrated innovation and change management skills which include supporting and encouraging new ideas and approaches to build organizational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated strength in project management.
  • Previous ERP Implementation experience is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources functions, processes and procedures with a broad knowledge of all aspects of human resources management systems.
  • Knowledge and skills in SAP and WorkForce Solution user access administration, across multiple SAP systems and modules
