Our client is a leading e-commerce company based in Toronto, known for specializing in trading cards. Their platform caters to enthusiasts and collectors, offering a unique blend of traditional and rare items.
As they continue to expand, they are currently in search of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to steer their technological vision and lead their dynamic tech team.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the company's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead the tech team of 20, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of the ecommerce platform, ensuring a seamless user experience for both buyers and sellers.
- Evaluate and integrate new systems and technologies, ensuring they support the company's growth and market expansion.
- Monitor and ensure the security, scalability, and stability of all tech systems and platforms.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, especially marketing and operations, to drive online sales and improve the customer journey.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies that can impact the ecommerce landscape.
- Manage technology budgets, ensuring resources are allocated optimally.
- Foster partnerships with tech providers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Drive the recruitment, training, and retention of top tech talent.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar leadership role in the ecommerce sector.
- Profound knowledge of technology landscapes, architectures, and emerging trends.
- Strong understanding of the trading card industry is an advantage.
- Exceptional team leadership and management skills.
- Solid project management skills, with a track record of leading complex tech projects to completion.
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
