Test Technician (Repair & Calibration)
- (1 Permanent Full-Time position in Edmonton, Alberta)_

What You'll Work on

The Test Technician in repair and calibration performs partial assembly and re-assembly of finished products and sub-assemblies that contain circuit boards, cables, and related mechanical product assemblies and conducts routine testing of the same.

Effectively follows procedures and plans.

Operates and maintains laboratory equipment including instrumentation, data acquisition hardware, and test fixtures to effectively execute tests and document test results.

Clearly communicates test and diagnostics results with other team members in oral and written forms.


You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

  • Provide a general knowledge of software and hardware used for control and data acquisition
  • Have a fundamental knowledge of electronics
  • Read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, or work instructions
  • Work with mechanical and electronic systems
  • Have knowledge of and work handson with implementing safe practices
  • Assemble products according to standardized production/engineering processes
  • Report variances in production processes and quality against established standards
  • Work with mínimal supervision, show selfmotivation, anticipate workload, and approach scheduled work with mínimal direction
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate with other skilled technical team members
  • Work under the pressure of time sensitive deadlines without compromising quality.

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Postsecondary diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, or a related technology program
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Someone who can read and follow test plans, test reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Familiarity with IPC 610D Standards and practical equipment, preferred
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electronic aptitude
  • Demonstrate the ability to use standard bench testing and repair equipment including DMM, oscilloscope, and soldering station, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to productively manage multiple tasks simultaneously while observing quality and safety standards
  • Minor to moderate mechanical assembly and work with sensitive components
  • Proficiency with generalpurpose test equipment.

Physical Requirements
Sitting for extending periods. Standing, bending, and twisting consistent with normal business operations in an office setting. Use of desktop PC for extended periods during a standard workday.


Work Environment

All work is done in an electronics manufacturing facility with much of the time spent at a computer and product-testing workstation.
