The Quality Assurance Associate will be responsible for real time QC protocols and to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (i.e. Health Canada, GMP, ISO in our laboratory.

This role will help assess quality assurance processes to ensure conformity with ISO 17025 and work constructively with laboratory staff and senior management to identify risks, and opportunities to ensure improvement to working practices, systems and processes both to comply with ISO 17025 and enhancing efficiency and cost effectiveness.

This position will ensure that we continue to offer leading results in a timely manner with the highest quality standards.

Work hours:
Minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday thru to Friday


Job Duties

  • Planning and executing the internal audit programs
  • Ensuring supplier and subcontractor compliance
  • Investigating nonconformances and identifying effective corrective actions in collaboration with the lab management and staff (CAPAs)
  • Supporting investigations and complaint handling
  • Identifying risks, improvements and opportunities to present to senior management with an aim to improve laboratory and management processes
  • Responsibility for reviewing and maintaining risk assessments related to ISO 1702
  • Assist in planning and conducting ISO 17025 management reviews
  • Reviewing, updating and writing Standard Operating Procedures and related documents
  • To assist in the preparation for and taking part in ISO 17025 assessments
  • To assist members of the Quality department to ensure compliance to other regulatory standards where required
  • Review reports and ensure results are within specifications and compliance
  • Ensuring training documents are updated according to management system
  • Documentation and workflow of the quality system within a cloudbased system
  • Veeva Vault

Education and Experience:


  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field
  • 35 years experience in an inorganic and/or microbiology laboratory setting is considered an asset
  • Experience in Quality Assurance is considered an asset
  • ISO 17025 is an asset
  • GMP/GLP knowledge also preferred


  • Computer proficiency

  • Excel, Microsoft Word, LIMS
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
