JOB SUMMARY
By-law & Regulatory Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of a multitude of municipal by-laws and provincial legislation and other enforcement related services on a city-wide basis to address issues of safety, nuisance and consumer protection for the residents.
You are responsible for researching and inspecting buildings and property to ensure compliance with various Zoning By-laws; the enforcement of Site Plan conditions on properties where performance fees have been released; the enforcement of the Property Standards, Property Maintenance and Right of Entry, Demolition Control, Boarding Up, Heat and Vital Services, and Pool Enclosure By-laws, and assisting with the enforcement of the Permanent Signs on Private Property By-law.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 2 year community college diploma in Building Construction, Architectural Technology, Police Foundations or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal inspections and/or enforcement
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
Completion of Certified Property Standards Officer (CPSO) Designation with Ontario Association of Property Standards Officers (OAPSO) within the timeframe determined by the employerKNOWLEDGE
