    The Office of the Registrar at U of T Mississauga delivers registrarial services to support U of T Mississauga's academic goals and U of T priorities in the areas of student information, interpretation of policies, and innovation of registrarial interactions.

    Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment Events and Outreach, the Student Recruitment and Admissions Representative provides front-line and administrative support for Student Recruitment and Admissions in the Office of the Registrar to assist U of T Mississauga in achieving its recruitment and enrolment goals and objectives.

    The Representative provides proactive, customer-focused, high-quality service to a diverse population and is the first point of contact for visitors to Student Recruitment and Admissions.

    The Representative will assess the needs of prospective students, families, school counsellors and others, and match those needs to appropriate staff, departments or divisions.


    The Student Recruitment and Admission Representative is responsible for positively representing the University to support the recruitment of qualified students.

    The Representative provides detailed information and must have a good understanding of the admission process, program requirements, a basic understanding of world-wide education systems, as well as programs and policies of the University, and U of T Mississauga in particular.

    The ability to interpret and explain admission guidelines and procedures, and adhere to University policies and practices is crucial.

    The Representative helps plan, co-ordinate and represent U of T Mississauga in recruitment events and programs and provides support for the campus tour program by coordinating, scheduling and tracking work study students and casual staff in the delivery of the program.


    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
    • Providing detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants
    • Fostering positive relationships with students, parents and the general public
    • Responding to routine admissions and awards enquiries and referring complex enquiries as appropriate
    • Updating and maintaining application information data
    • Promoting programs at recruitment events
    • Coordinating scheduled activities for functions
    • Determininglogistical details and activities for events and/or programming

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Minimum two years experience in a fast paced, high volume customer service environment
    • Experience in planning and coordinating events and/or programs for large groups
    • Excellent communication and customer relations skills
    • Knowledgeable on issues and trends related to student recruitment, admission and university life
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media applications with the ability to stay current and learn new applications and technology
    • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
    • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, take initiative and work within a team

    Assets (Nonessential):

    • Experience in a direct student recruitment and/or admissions services environment
    • Experience with Slate and ROSI

    USW Pay Band 09 $65,407 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $83,646. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
