ABOUT THIS POSITION


Reporting to the Site Superintendent the Skilled Labourer carries out a broad range of tasks in relation to the daily operation of the work site.


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Monitor build schedules and prepare units for upcoming trade tasks.
  • Experience with constructing, installing, and maintaining access ramps and safety rails.
  • Able to install wood blocking for televisions, hood fans and railings, etc.
  • Ability to fabricate and install wood mechanical walls, window wells and patio stones.
  • Responsible for transporting smaller materials from unit to unit, shoveling snow, property maintenance, installing patio stones, minor caulking, power washing, raking, shoveling and minor exterior grading.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, enforce safety protocols and report infractions to the Superintendent.
  • Organize, receive, and track all tools and materials, and complete order lists for missing or low stock items.
  • Assist with set up and take down of ladders, scaffolding, hoarding and other temporary structures.
  • Maintenance of construction heaters, with appropriate ROT propane training is an asset.
  • Responsible for preparing flooring installation and repairing subfloor when needed.
  • Daily interior maintenance of units including but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming, scraping, mopping, cleaning, floor covering and material transportation.
  • Interior unit preparation work including but not limited to mudding, patching, sanding, painting, minor mechanical adjustments, minor molding, and trim work.
  • Responsible for preparing units for walkthroughs and quality checks for flooring and cabinets etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Adhere to company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints is an asset.
  • Capable of working at heights and/or adverse conditions.
  • Ability to perform tasks in all areas and aspects of a construction project in a safe, productive, and efficient manner under mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation for local projects.
  • Experience in residential construction is an asset.

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
