Description

One full-time Contract to December 31, 2024 (with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent)

Day, Evening and Weekends required
You will be
responsible for engaging with individuals, families and groups
who are currently under-represented in the area.

You will be working in
partnership with the YSSN Community Outreach and Engagement Crisis Worker
and local community organizations to improve relations between marginalized communities and community mental health services and increase awareness on mental health services, while increasing community participation and reducing isolation.

In addition to broader community outreach initiatives, you will also be responsible for providing one-on-one support to individuals who have been identified through your outreach efforts or by YSSN crisis services (including but not limited to the Mental Health Support Team and Call Diversion Unit) as individuals who could benefit from in person follow-up supports from a qualified crisis worker.

Community engagement is essentially a relational process that occurs at a local level.

It involves professionals who represent services and service systems building personal relationships with
community members and groups, based on mutual trust and respect.
