About Us:


The Rehabilitation Sector Schools include the Schools of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, all of which offer graduate level programs and professional degrees at the MClSc and MSc levels.

Each School has enrolments of over 100 students in their programs, which include hands on learning through clinical placements and experiential learning opportunities.

Our goals for the three Schools are to generate, use, and exchange knowledge that makes a difference and supports transformation in research, education, and practice.

We look to create, implement, and evaluate innovative, context-relevant curricula.


Responsibilities:


  • The Office Assistant (OA) will support the School of Physical Therapy, the School of Occupational Therapy and School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The daytoday interactions for this role centre around communication with students, faculty, and staff in the Rehabilitation Sector Schools. The Office Assistant is an integral component to the success of the professional schools within Faculty of Health Sciences. This role helps the administration run in the most smooth and efficient manner with strong communication across the team.
    Qualifications:
    Education:
  • Community College Diploma in an administrative field

Experience:

  • 3 years' administrative experience providing customer service in an academic and/or health care environment

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
  • Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve external and internal partner issues
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
  • Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements
  • Strong keyboarding skills
