THE ROLE


The diagnostics team is responsible for developing test suites that exercise and validate the hardware blocks in the System-on-chips developed at AMD.

We understand the features that go into the hardware design and we have the software skills to program them to life.

Once developed, these diagnostics are used in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from pre-silicon validation through the production life of the product.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Planning, designing, writing, debugging, and optimizing functional and stress inducing tests for power management subsystem and systemonchip hardware IP
  • Develop diagnostic tests to bringup and validate ASIC features on both presilicon environment (FPGA, SW emulation, N1 generation HW silicon and platform) and
- post-silicon systems (HW silicon and platform)

  • Participate in APU/GPU/CPU silicon bring u
  • Identify and help resolve ASIC, board, and firmware issues, provide diagnostics support to various engineering teams
  • Triage, debug, and root cause HW and SW issues, execute/coordinate testing to ensure high quality software engineering and hardware coverage
  • Evaluate, suggest, and drive improvements to framework and test architectures to improve HW coverage, debuggability and quality

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working on a bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Hardware feature validation
  • Have strong interest in software development, computer hardware and architecture
  • Understand lowlevel coding techniques for manipulating bits in registers and memory blocks
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Please have the knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills

  • Proficient in C & C++ objectoriented programming
  • Experience with microcontrollers and software development
  • Experience in reading technical specifications
  • Great communication and selfleadership skills
  • Experience with source control systems like git
  • Relevant work experience/Internships in device driver, firmware or embedded SW development
  • Experience in system software development on Linux
  • Experience working with largescale software development projects and understanding of PC architecture
  • Experience in systemlevel verification and debugging
