NewAge is looking for a Controller to join our Accounting & Finance team. Reporting to the V.P.

Finance, this position performs financial analysis and reconciliation duties related to preparation of the monthly financial statements and external reporting requirements.


Duties Include:


  • Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transactionprocessing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end and year end closing
  • Compile and analyze monthly financial reporting packages
  • Ensures that all government filings are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting team members
  • Maintains bank reporting & relationship
  • Liaison between NewAge and Accounting Firm
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of progressive experience, ideally within a similar industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA or CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Knowledge in Canada and US taxation (Corporate & Sales)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Proven supervisory abilities motivating and building a team
  • Outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Selfmotivated and selfdirected
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
