Project Manager - Edmonton, Canada - InSync
Description
We are looking for aProject Manager for a
3-year contract position with possible extensions in
Edmonton, Alberta.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Remote work. However, some travel to site may be required.
Role Description
Responsibilities
- Provide program support and project management within the branch as required.
- Provide technical leadership to the project team.
- Manage and lead multiple projects and teams concurrently.
- Provide architectural guidance for both cloud and noncloudbased solutions.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and provide project management direction to Digital Content Management and Delivery staff and consultants, aligning with department goals, strategies, and standards.
- Escalate issues and risks promptly and appropriately.
- Deliver weekly status reports to the Director and Senior Manager of the Digital Content Management and Delivery Branch, providing updates on project status, task reviews, and associated timelines.
- Lead or assist in the development of business cases and other technical documents as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to gather project requirements as necessary.
- Report on projects and manage them using industrystandard project management practices and tools.
- Identify, assess, mitigate, and communicate project risks effectively.
Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science, or a related field

Minimum of 7-9 years of experience on software development projects

Minimum of 3 years of experience directly project managing agile software development projects
:

Experience managing software development projects utilizing cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Ability to provide technical leadership on web-based or cloud software development projects
:

Prior experience using PM tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent

Experience managing education related software development projects
:

Strong knowledge of solution architecture
:

Experience in risk management and mitigation within the context of software development projects
:
- Excellent problemsolving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality results.
