Summary of responsibilities:


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the
Manager, Human Resources is responsible to partner across our HR and Talent Acquisition teams to help accelerate growth in efficiency, execution, and improving team capabilities.

They will be engaged in designing, implementing, and optimizing HR processes, programs, systems, and shared services to support both the HR department and our employees overall.

In addition, they are responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of hiring strategies and plans that support all components of attracting, developing, and retaining talent.

The incumbent will support CATSA to build a talented, engaged, safe, and diverse workforce by building strong partnerships internally and externally and coaching the team to deliver exceptional service to management and employees.

The Manager, Human Resources performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.


What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in human resources, business administration, communications, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant HR experience that includes Business Partner or Organizational Development experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience of leadership experience.
  • Experience providing expertise, guidance and coaching to management and employees on the prevention and resolution of issues in the workplace.
  • Previous experience in a Senior HR Business Partner role demonstrating strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of HR management policies and practices.
  • Experience working in dynamic environments and understanding of change management practices.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills related to employee relations, and workplace investigations.
  • Experience planning, managing, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of a broad range Human Resources areas such as Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Employee Relations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment and related legislation including the Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Act and Employment Equity Act.
  • Strong detailorientation, excellent problem solving, analytical and research skills.
