Our Finance team is working primarily in the office.

We are generally in the office 3 to 4 days a week but have flexible solutions to accommodate when life happens.

More remote days are possible based on need. This role is flexible for start and end times based on when you work best.


What You'll Do:

You'll be the main point person and expert for everything Tax at Article. Working to understand where we are headed and what the tax implications may be for the business.

  • Work closely with the Finance leadership team to identify and mitigate risk areas and manage compliance
  • Partner with business to advise on tax matters impacting business transactions and projects
  • Maintain and manage transfer pricing arrangements including ongoing optimization
  • Manage all compliancerelated activities including corporate and state tax returns and compliance, indirect taxes, and any subsequent audits
  • Manage the relationships with our external tax partners
  • Partner with finance leadership to develop and execute tax department roadmap, including maturation of the function and automation opportunities
  • Manage external financial reporting for tax including tax provision calculations and preparing and advising on disclosure requirements
  • Improve, develop, document, and maintain tax processes
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law development and [in partnership with finance leadership] propose strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
  • Assist in forecasting and scenario planning from a tax perspective
  • Develop junior staff into high performing professionals (as needed)
  • Oversee US Federal and State Tax Income tax cycle and Sales Tax filings and remittance process
  • Manage tax audits and tax litigation
  • Manage tax reporting and tax provisioning cycle
  • Assist in maintaining tax account ledger
  • Liaise with business partners and accounting team to understand new transactions and alert management where there may be opportunities for beneficial tax structures where appropriate and material
  • Research and recommend on tax matters relating to international operations
  • Ensure appropriate reporting on key tax issues to key business partners

Who You Are:


  • You have 4+ years of experience in a similar role, have your CPA designation, and have completed the In-Depth Tax Course
  • Tax experience in a midsized or large CPA accounting firm preferred
  • Canadian and US corporate tax experience required
  • Strong technical and research skills with the ability to adapt tax strategies to unique circumstances
  • Demonstrated tax planning experience
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills
  • Effective communicator and know how to adjust your style to fit the audience
  • Ability to build relationships and to tailor your support to each person's unique needs
  • Driven to produce high quality work and are committed to customer service excellence
