Black Diamond Group's Indigenous Relations Team has a full-time position for an
Indigenous Relations Coordinator. This position report to our Downtown Calgary office or our branch in Edmonton, Alberta.


This position is a part of our Work Force Solutions Business unit, where we strive to create premier modular solutions wherever you need us, so you can rest and be your best.

This position will require to 50% travel within Canada. In summer months, will include travel to community events on weekends

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development and implementation of an integrated strategy to achieve Black Diamond's social and commercial goals, including:
  • Indigenous and community engagement
  • Implement Community Investment Programs
  • Coordinating Employment and Training initiatives
  • Working on the creation of Growth and Strategic Development Plans
  • Local Content strategies, collaborating with our Corporate Communications team to write engaging and meaningful content
  • Attend internal and external meetings, maintaining detailed minutes and accurate action items logs
  • Drafting detailed Indigenous participation and socioeconomic strategies.
  • Work with the Black Diamond team to resolve any community concerns as they arise
  • Work alongside various Business Units to ensure consistency in approach and standards and communication on progress
  • Develop and Maintain effective relationships with key communities of interest
  • Regular reporting on the progress of plans and initiatives
  • Attend strategic conferences and trade shows
  • Event planning as required
  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to stakeholders regarding initiatives and partnerships
  • Up to 50% travel within Canada

Qualifications

  • 25 years of relevant professional work experience
  • Degree in Social Sciences, Sustainability, Business or related field
  • Familiarity with process, protocol and regulations pertaining to Stakeholder and Indigenous consultation
  • Indigenous Community Industry Relations Certificate (University of Alberta) is a strong asset
  • A selfstarter with the ability to work independently to achieve results
  • Demonstrated success in meeting requirements for major project success
  • Demonstrated success working with different communities of interest and designing, managing and evaluating associated strategies and programs
  • Experience in working with Indigenous peoples
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills and experience of working with broad range of people and groups
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating programs and initiatives
  • Results oriented with excellent organizational, planning and decisionmaking skills
  • Demonstrated team building, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft programs
  • Integrity, respect and solutions focused approach
