About Home & Community Support Services

Home and Community Support Services (HCSS) of Grey-Bruce is a team of caring staff and volunteers who provide community based services that support independence and enhance the quality of daily life for seniors, adults and their families.

About the role
The Respite and Housekeeper worker duties include, but are not limited to;

Routine cleaning (dusting, laundry, bathroom cleaning, dish washing, disinfecting, etc.)
Assist with recreational activities with client.
Support client so caregiver can have respite time. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and other dementia's considered a benefit. Training available
Ability to motivate and promote client participation in social, recreational and educational activities.
Meal preparation
Shopping & errands

No personal care is provided while working in this position.

Duties vary according to the individuals need who is receiving the service, and are based on one of our service plans.

The Respite Worker/Housekeeper must work within a client centered philosophy.

This position is casual/part-time, with variable hours to start.

Skills required
Experience and knowledge working with people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia considered an asset.

Valid G drivers license
Proof of COVID19 Vaccination
Reliable mode of transportation
Passing of a vulnerable sector criminal record search
