National Strategic Risk Advisory Practice Leader to join our team in Canada.

As the Marsh Advisory National Strategic Risk Advisory Practice Leader, you will be responsible for managing the strategy across Canada, developing a high performing consulting team, project management and project delivery.

In this critical leadership role, you will collaborate with Industry Practice Leaders and Consultants nationally and be a member of the Advisory Executive Leadership team.

We will count on you to:

  • Drive growth of the Strategic Risk practice and identify broader opportunities for other Advisory practices including development of cross practice opportunities.
  • Take a longrange, broad approach to problemsolving and decisionmaking by analyzing and planning ahead to increase efficiency of practice.
  • Lead proposal development initiatives.
  • Cooperate with other firm practice units and uses an interdisciplinary approach to cross sell to identify and act on client opportunities across service lines and industries.
  • Lead, coach and support team members/peers in meeting expectations to promote a workinglearning environment.
  • Mentor and develop a team of consultants; engage in talent reviews. Provide candid, timely and constructive feedback/appraisals.
  • Manage the P&L and drive profitable growth.
  • Engage in external speaking engagements.
  • Engage with Marsh Client Executives to ensure Advisory value and services and fully understood

What you need to have:


  • 10+ years of experience in a consulting environment with insurance risk knowledge.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance lines.
  • Strong selling and execution skills with a successful track record of new business growth.
  • Collaborative style with the ability to lead through influence.
  • Demonstrated success leading a team and/or practice.
  • Insurance Broker License (or willingness to acquire upon joining).

What makes you stand out:


  • Experience with Strategic Risk Management, including Enterprise Risk, Cyber Risk, Business Continuity and Resilience, as well as risk analytics and insurance risk financing design
  • Familiarity with ESG and Climate Risk as assets
  • Ability to conduct business in both English and French is an asset
  • Ability to present, and advise on, complex risk issues at the Executive level
  • Ability to identify multidimensional client issues and leverage internal expertise to develop integrated risk management solutions
