    Description

    This role is most commonly in a group home setting providing care to children and youth with complex behavioural needs.

    At CarePros, our programs are unlike what you would expect in a traditional group home setting.

    Our programs are structured around the individual child/youth that you will be caring for, with a 2-1 (staff to youth ratio).

    This provides a safe environment where you can develop a meaningful relationship with the youth you are responsible for caring for.

    You will report directly to the Program Supervisor of your assigned program, who will be your key source of training, guidance, and support through your journey at CarePros.

    We guide children and youth to achieve personal success by nurturing their physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being. You're ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth.
    You have experience working with complex behavioural challenges and are comfortable in a group home setting.
    Full-Time Rotations

    Evening (3:00pm - 11:00pm)

    Overnight Awake (10:30pm - 8:00am)
    Part-Time Rotations
    Temporary Casual Rotations
    Establish a relationship to guide and support youth through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement
    Supervise children/youth at home and in the community
    Participate in the Care Team through the ongoing development of care plans and programs

    • 2 years minimum experience working with children and youth with complex behaviours is required
    Direct experience working with youth with complex behavioural and mental health needs
    Knowledge of child and youth care mental wellness practices
    Knowledge of processes and procedures for providing home care
    Trauma Informed Care practices
    Alberta Valid Class 5 driver's license
    Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certificate from a Canadian in person (two day training)
    Intervention Record Check (obtained in the last 3 months from Children Services)
    Reliable automobile
    Strong computer and technology skills
    Suicide Prevention (an asset, but not required)
    Mental Health First Aid (an asset, but not required)
    Completion of Degree/Diploma in Human Services field (an asset, but not required)
