Position Synopsis
The Head of Content Strategy drives the evolution of ngx's storytelling capabilities and oversees the Content Strategy team.

They lead a diversely skilled team of narrative professionals, providing conceptual, interpersonal, and organizational leadership.


The Head of Content Strategy joins the Creative Team's Leadership group, and reports to the Director of the Creative Team.


Content Strategy Leadership

  • Shape the vision_
  • Serve as a Content Strategy Lead on highprofile projects. This includes the ability to exercise institution wide interpretive leadership across diverse media formats, and to oversee others.
  • Refine our content strategy and development processes with a view to expression and quality.
  • Provide departmental vision that anticipates industry trends for narrative expression in physical space and equips our team to deliver work at the leading edge of those trends.
  • Oversee a team that includes interpretive writers, researchers, and a growing sphere of diverse narrative professionals.
  • Work with Content Strategists and their project teams to strengthen and refine creative approaches when roadblocks or issues arise.

Production Processes

  • Implement the vision_
  • Work with the Production Director to ensure that all projects have content leadership and sufficient content resources to complete work to a high standard.
  • This entails collaborative forecasting of project needs and assigning strategists, copy writers, script writers, researchers, and others to projects.
  • Work with project teams to identify and recruit subcontractor specialists.

People Leadership

  • Cultivate the team_
  • Mentor the Content Strategy team to provide oversight, support, and coaching that ensures project quality and their individual growth as professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative environment for an engaged team.
  • In collaboration with the Director of the Creative Team, scale the team as needed and identify the right talent to do so. This includes recruiting full time hires, subcontractors, and interns.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Organizational leadership_
  • Bridge creative leadership across departments (e.g., Creativetech innovation, Creativeproducer relationships.)
  • Exemplify best practices in collaboration, critical discourse, and conflict exploration.
  • Have a regular in person presence with the team in Vancouver.
  • Travel nationally and internationally for client and conference engagements.
  • Provide strategic longterm thinking for shortterm challenges.

Required Experiences and Skills

  • 7+ years of interpretive experience in museums, themed attractions, or related spaces.
  • 5+ years' experience working with diverse media formats.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with an emphasis on creative teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence as a collaborator.
  • Expert proficiency in the written word.
  • Client facing confidence and grace.

Bonus Points

  • Fluency with film, animation, or game development pipelines.
  • Fluency with visual tools for creative expression, from sketches to Unreal Engine.
