Manager, Student and Alumni Marketing Communications


The Manager of Student and Alumni Marketing Communications reports to the Director of Marketing and Creative Services and serves as the lead for integrated marketing communications activities to paid applicants, current students and alumni.


Responsibilities:

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

Conversion Marketing Communication - Paid to Registered

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of paid applicant conversion strategy for domestic direct and nondirect applicants.
  • Regularly evaluates tactics based on data, analysis and insight to ensure that opportunities and activities are maximized and/or adjusted as required.
  • Responsible for the review and optimization of conversionfocused website and portal content for accuracy, tone/voice and usability.

Student Retention Communication

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of student communication strategy.
  • Works closely with key communications stakeholders to ensure student communication is coordinated, timely and delivered by the most effect medium to maximize the dissemination of important information, enhance the student experience, ensure students are aware of services and supports, and support the overall student communication strategy.
  • Collaborates with departments to develop targeted communications for atrisk student populations to support reenrollment and retention
  • Acts as the main point of contact for student services to help sub branding activities, through developing and implementing ongoing student communication plans and supports departments with developing their content.
  • Oversees and manages weekly student communication and messaging working with Public Relations to support strategic college content as required.
  • Provide marketing and communication support for strategic apprenticeship initiatives
  • Women in Skilled Trades and Technology (WITT), Ontario Skills Competition, and any future apprenticeship engagement opportunities
  • Works with departments to determine atrisk student recipient lists
  • Regularly evaluates tactics based on data, analysis and insight to ensure that opportunities and activities are maximized and/or adjusted as required.
  • Responsible for the review and optimization of retentionfocused website and portal content for accuracy, tone/voice and usability.
  • Work closely with academic area, Registrar and Dean of student's areas to plan and execute targeted communication outreach for new incoming Apprenticeship students (Confirmed and Registered students) and returning apprenticeship students to support conversion and retention.
  • Develop, plan and execute Apprenticeship engagement communication plan to support conversion, retention and Alumni connection with Apprentices.

Alumni Marketing and Communication

  • Contributes to the implementation of the Alumni strategy.
  • Work with the Director of Alumni to coordinate custom Alumni employer plans, Apprenticeship employer and Cooperative Education employer communication and marketing plans.
  • Regularly evaluates tactics based on data, analysis and insight to ensure that opportunities and activities are maximized and/or adjusted as required.
  • Ensures all alumni marketing and communication adheres to college branding, EDI objectives and AODA standards

Employer Satisfaction

  • Support internal partners in the development and implementation of employer communications
  • Manage the development and implementation of the Future Ready Premium Employer Program (FRPEP) marketing and communications elements including website, marketing collateral, media and ensure overall branding for all areas of the program.
  • Act as the employer liaison on the delivery of marketing commitments and liaise with Mohawk legal to ensure compliance with respect to FRPEP.
  • In partnership with the academic team and Public Relations develop and implement an Apprenticeship Employer focused communication strategy
