    Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs.

    Programs and services – which are delivered at the Centre, in the community, at schools, and in-home – include: medical consultation, assessment, and diagnosis; audiology, autism support; complex care program; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; respite services; social work; speech-language pathology; therapeutic recreation; Grandview Kids actively participates in research to support innovation in rehabilitation science, to advance organizational capabilities, and to better serve caregivers and the developmental needs of their children and adolescents.

    Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of:

    Quality Improvement and Risk Specialist (Regular Full-Time)


    • Full-Time – 37.Under the direction of the Executive Lead, Clinical and Client Services (EL, C&CS), or designate, the Quality improvement, Risk Specialist (QIRS) will provide leadership and expertise to support the continuous improvement in quality, safety, and the reliability of processes to promote culture of quality and data informed decision-making.

    Grandview Children's Centre ("Grandview Kids') is committed to providing and continuously improving safe, high-quality care and service to clients and families.

    To support this commitment, Grandview Kids has a Quality Improvement Program (QIP), which integrates and coordinates all quality improvement, risk management, safety, and utilization review activities for all programs administered by the organization.


    The QIRS drives a risk management framework by:

    leading the implementation and maintenance of our enterprise risk management structure by completing annual risk assessments, maintaining a corporate risk register, and ensuring mitigation strategies are developed and documented.


    • Defining and establishing relevant infrastructure, systems, tools, protocols, analysis methods and processes to identify, analyse, quantify, monitor, and limit or control risks at all levels.
    • investigating incidents, identifying trends in compliments, concerns, and complaints, determining root cause, identifying trends, and working with operational leaders to develop and implement corrective actions.
    • Acting as a resource and/or providing education to leaders and teams on various improvement and risk management methodologies; Supporting staff and the management team in quality and safety initiatives, including actively promoting a culture of safety for clients and staff; and setting a standard for project management, maintaining a structured approach to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of indicators of success
    • Advising on and adhering to established project management standards, policies and procedures, including maintaining a structured approach to implementation, monitoring and evaluation of indicators of success; and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, e.g. Following policies and procedures related to safety, including reporting and follow-up for accidents and near misses, identification, and management of risks.
    • Following standards of practice for the profession regarding safe application of assessment protocols and therapeutic techniques.
    A university degree in related discipline, such as, Business/Health Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences, Information Management, (Master's preferred).


    • Comprehensive knowledge of accreditation, quality improvement and enterprise risk management (ERM) principles, processes, and tools.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience within the healthcare sector, and 3 years' experience in quality improvement with Continuous Quality Improvement methods and ERM framework training.
    • Demonstrated experience of successful change management projects or initiatives
    • Experience in leveraging data to inform decision-making.
    • Proficiency in quantitative analysis and report writing.
    • You have a deep commitment to client and family centred care, and a passion for working with others to support children to achieve their personal best. You have the ability to work flexible hours outside of normal work hours, and possess a valid Ontario driver's license, insurance, and access to a vehicle, or have efficient and reliable transportation.
