As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting existing and developing communities with general maintenance and or construction related initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Property Maintenance
- Works on planned maintenance activities and oversees third party service trades to facilitate building maintenance.
- Complete assigned and scheduled work orders and carry out preventive maintenance.
- Undertake general repair/renovation activities to restore/upgrade residential apartment units.
- Troubleshoot/ diagnose equipment failure and carryout repairs
- Conduct regular building inspections and restore (imminent) defects or perform corrective maintenance activities
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and pallet jacks.
- Cleaning, organizing and performing other duties as assigned.
- Clean the site by removing debris and sorting materials and recyclables appropriately.
- Set up work areas for tradespeople in advance.
- Perform skilled site tasks including grading, painting, basic carpentry, basic drywall, demolition, cement/rebar work, and deficiency work.
- Maintain tools and equipment and coordinate with supervisor if replacement or service required.
- Assist site team with other labour and carpentry duties as assigned.
- Receive and unload deliveries.
- Operate mobile equipment as qualified and directed.
- Logs all maintenance and construction activities in the appropriate management systems
- Consults with management on quality issues, technical issues / problems, etc.
- Report all injuries, incidents or unsafe working conditions to their direct supervisor or site HSE coordinator as soon as possible
- Works in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures as well as technical standards
- Signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of work experience in a maintenance/construction role.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experienced with hand tools and power tools.
- Solid understanding of construction and or maintenance processes as well as an ability to, with mínimal direction, complete their assigned tasks.
- Be physically capable of meeting the job demands, including working on your feet for 8 hours or more, lifting objects weighing up to 55lbs, and carrying out physical tasks over extended periods.
- Drivers License is a requirement and access to a vehicle is an asset.
- Basic carpentry skills are an asset.
- Proficient with Gmail and Microsoft office suite are requirements
- Ability to document findings and communicate them in an efficient manner
- Ability to travel as required to attend sites throughout the Pacific North West
The main objective of the Maintenance Technician will be to undertake maintenance and construction related tasks at a variety of different properties to support existing and developing communities.
COMPENSATION
- Salary will be a minimum of $50,000.00 with negotiation consistent for commensurate experience
- 2 weeks vacation
