LandSolutions is looking to expand their talent pipeline to service our clients in Alberta by supporting the Talent Sourcing team in our Asset Management Division.

The Role
The role conducts field work in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and standards, and LandSolutions operating principles.

This role includes providing advisory services and Lands & Right-of-Way (ROW) support to the Sherwood Park, Alberta regional pipeline and facility operations personnel.


What you will do:


  • Responsible for offering Land & ROW support services for the region's continuing pipeline operations and maintenance tasks
  • Responsible for conducting investigations into issues relating to land (such as damage claims, encroachment/land use monitoring, contamination/reclamation activities, drainage improvements, etc.) to settle and manage compensation settlements brought on by construction and maintenance activities
  • Follow up on landrelated issues as needed, by liaising with landowners, thirdparty land consultants
  • Work with a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups, including Operations, Projects, Law, Environment, Public Affairs, and Regulatory, to coordinate land activities
  • Travel at least 50% of the time to meet with different partners and visit field sites, including regional offices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of related rightofway experience in progressive roles
  • Degree or diploma in land management/administration or related field
  • Proficient understanding of the legal issues related to land acquisitions and easements in operating area
  • Ability to interpret applicable legislation, regulations and processes
  • Must be familiar with, and have the ability to interpret legal plans, legal documentation, titles, deeds and engineering drawings
  • Expertise in influencing and negotiating in critical situations
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and proficient in English, both verbal and written. Ability to convey facts and information clearly
  • The ability to work independently
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and a teamoriented attitude
