The Opportunity
The Distribution Analyst provides strategic support to GD America's receiving, warehousing & shipping functions across North America. This role will support both internal and external stakeholders by providing key data pertaining to all distribution-related activities.

By developing and distributing tactful metrics and reports, this individual will help streamline operations and be a key contributor to the success of the Distribution & Logistics team.


In this role you will:


  • Maintain relationship of 3PL distribution partners through regular communications and performance reviews to ensure that 3PL managed sites are consistently meeting contractual obligations and the needs of the business Daily, Weekly & Monthly
  • Generation and distribution of warehousing reports and metrics
  • Identify and resolve any warehousing and/or transportation related issue or process gap.
  • Drive best practices, continuous improvement, and operational consistency across all locations to deliver reliable service at the lowest possible cost
  • Assist in development and monitoring of GD Americas receiving, warehousing, and shipping processes, systems, and tools.
  • Understand and monitor the internal systems settings that manage and influence distribution processes (such as goods receipt and pick/pack/ship buffers, storage types, picking strategies, UOM, item dimensions, warehouse configuration, putaway strategies and slotting parameters)
  • Monitor ongoing distribution spend, identify trends and insights, with the goal of achieving annual cost savings.
  • Identify and dispute any/all warehousing, shipping, or transportation related invoice variances.
  • Negotiate competitive freight quotes as part of ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain the accuracy of all system warehousing transactions and ensure inventory integrity through robust cycle counting controls and annual inventories
  • Investigate, report, and reconcile on inventory discrepancies, provide corrective action plans.
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with relevant and up to date warehousing information pertaining to orders, rework projects and any other duties assigned.
  • Completion of carrier/freight claims with missing or damaged product
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Need

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a warehousing, transportation, or supply chain role
  • Postsecondary education in Business, Supply Chain or Materials/Operations Management preferred
  • Able to solve problems using various analytical tools, including root cause analysis
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel required
  • Ability to prioritize and thrive in a fastpaced environment
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Objects would be an asset
  • Knowledge of SAP EWM would be an asset
