About the role
We're looking for an
Underwriting Assistant to join our growing
Trade Credit team
This is a hybrid role out of our office in Ottawa, Ontario.
What you'll do here:
- Responsible for data integrity of policy documents and assists Underwriters with data quality.
- Follows up directly with customers, banks and brokers for signed documents required pertaining to the policy.
- Identifies and assigns incoming inquiries to appropriate individuals
- Understands the needs and requirements of internal and external clients and interacts with them as required.
- Provides research and performs various supportive tasks for Underwriters to improve efficiency of project, new signing and client onboarding activities.
- Create and maintain records to ensure that team performance metrics can be easily tracked. This includes tracking of new business, policy renewal and claims information.
- Actively identify opportunities or initiatives to improve internal business and processes, systems and service delivery to ensure optimal and valueadded service to customers.
- Utilizes billing software to ensure precise invoices for clients, facilitating the collection of premium and fees related to Trade Credit policies.
- Facilitates client onboarding and provides ongoing support, guiding them through the utilization of our online portal for seamless policy maintenance.
What you bring to the table:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Business or Finance, or a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years of varied experience with external customers as an administrator, coordinator or office manager
- Strong ability to communicate in both official languages (written and verbal)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Effective notetaking strategies and organizational skills.
- Self starting and motivated individual with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow for optimal productivity.
- Ability to work within time constraints, and service level agreement (SLA) targets.
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.
