Duties
Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the
Research Technician I will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of common lab reagents/stocks as well as frozen cell stocks, training new lab member in different techniques including but not limited to cell culture, RT-qPCR and cell imaging (brightfield and fluorescent) and organization of the lab.
They will also support the work of other lab members by preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, checking inventories, and assisting/coordinating other routine experiments in the lab.
Prior experience with pluripotent stem cell culture, differentiation and manipulation is a major asset.Qualifications:
- At minimum a Bachelor's degree in a healthrelated field
- A minimum of six months related technical experience
- Selfmotivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
- Experience in routine cell culture and other general lab analysis techniques
- Core competency in verbal and written communication skills
- Maintenance of wellorganized records and documentation, inventories, data entry and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and meticulous bench work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
