    MacEwan University is seeking an Associate Registrar, Admissions, Recruitment and Transfer for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Office of the University Registrar.

    The position provides institutional-wide leadership, vision, strategic direction, and oversight to the university's undergraduate student recruitment, admissions (Canadian and international) and transfer articulation units. Executes, in collaboration with unit managers, the strategies and tactics that drive operations, making optimal use of technology, communication tools, staffing, and resources to support the student experience, enrolment goals, and academic and service standards. In collaboration with the other Associate Registrars, is responsible for the leadership and management of the overall OUR operations.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Developing, implementing, and evaluating unit specific operational goals in alignment with the overarching goals of the OUR and university's strategic plan Teaching Greatness: Strategic Vision 2030.
    • Fostering a team culture that both promotes MacEwan and its programs while providing accurate and timely information to all constituents.
    • Overseeing and coordinating the admissions process, including the evaluation of applications, verification of credentials, and communication with prospective students.
    • Leading a team of admissions professionals to be effective guides for prospective students by providing timely and accurate information and guidance throughout the admissions process.
    • Regularly reviewing analysis on admissions, enrolment trends, and student demographics to respond to market trends and shifting student needs.
    • Providing oversight of the organization and execution of effective recruitment events, both on and off-campus, in collaboration with key constituents.
    • Conducting research on competitor institutions, market trends, and emerging best practices to identify internal and external barriers to achieving enrolment goals.
    • Recommending communication strategies and tactics based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of emerging trends in student recruitment and admissions.
    • Overseeing the creation and maintenance of internal and external transfer articulation agreements, including serving as the primary custodian for official transfer articulation agreements for the university.
    • Supporting a collaborative and respectful working environment that fosters professionalism.
    • Encouraging and supporting a climate of excellence, responsibility, and accountability by facilitating professional development activities, monitoring job performance, ensuring service guidelines and outcomes are met, and recognizing employee contributions and achievements.
    • In collaboration with the Registrar and Associate Vice-President, Strategic Enrolment Management and other Associate Registrars, providing strategic direction and lead change in the OUR to align with university goals and sector standards.
    • Serving as the university's primary expert and has university-wide leadership responsibility and considerable authority over the university's student recruitment, admission, and transfer articulation administration.
    • Contributing to and leading, where appropriate, the development of university strategy, policy and procedures related to student recruitment, admission, and transfer articulation, and is responsible for the interpretation and implementation of such policies.
    • Developing and maintaining effective communication and collaboration with other academic and administrative leaders throughout the institution.
    • Acting as a resource, or serving as a member where appropriate, for Provost Group, Deans' Council, and other institutional and governance committees to support and inform decision-making as related to the OUR services. Positional appointments include the Committee on Admission and Transfer and Student Services Joint Operations Committee.
    • Representing the university on the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) and other such government, professional associations, or external committees and boards as it relates to the portfolio.

    • The ability to work successfully with technology, student information systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or similar).

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree
    • A minimum of seven years of related experience within a recognized post-secondary institution with increasing levels of responsibility. Preference for experience including considerable working knowledge in university student recruitment, admissions, transfer articulation, and enrolment management practices; supervision and management of staff; participation in academic governance; working with and chairing large committees; policy research, development, and implementation; and the application of privacy legislation (i.e., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
