The Role:

The Camp Manager role is diverse, with responsibilities in site operations, customer service, marketing, staffing and mentorship.

This is an independent role where you will be responsible for the delivery of Pedalheads programs within the region and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are being met.


Your Responsibilities:

The Camp Manager will be based on-site at a Pedalheads site.

You will also work collaboratively with others in the organization such as Operations, Marketing, Customer Care, Training and Human Resources.


The term and hours for this contract will be as follows:

June to September - full-time 40 hours per week

Camp Operations

  • Overall, the site leader oversees all Pedalheads Bike programs at the site
  • Acts as a mentor/coach to instructors at the assigned camp
  • Responsible for answering site phone for parents to reach kids in Bike program
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of all kids during bike camp times
  • Overseeing the set up and take down the camp equipment and ensuring this is done properly
  • Signing in kids/parents and making class switches
  • Organize indoor games/activities related to sport when in inclement weather conditions (many activities can be done indoors, where there is space)
  • Liaises with the staff and management at the facilities where the camp is located
  • Communicates and regularly updates the Regional Manager and/or the Site Support team

Marketing

  • Participates in marketing activities and promotional events as requested by the marketing department
  • Leads onsite marketing initiatives such as reregistration campaigns
  • Interacts with other childfocused organizations and businesses to develop beneficial relationships
  • Supports corporate activities that drive business success and value for the customer

Customer Service

  • Responds to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, always aiming to provide solutions that ensure resolution
  • Always willing to go the extra mile to engage customers and provide an excellent customer experience
  • Proactively engages with parents and children onsite

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • A minimum of 2 year's management or supervisory experience
  • Experience with children's programs/summer camps or in coaching, teaching, or instructing, an asset
  • Supervisory and/or hiring experience, especially with ages 152
  • This can be a physically demanding position should be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and be able to support a child on a bike
  • Previous experience with high volume staff recruitment an asset
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge and understanding of the city and communities of their region
  • Occasional travel and work after hours and/or weekends required, particularly during camp season (June

  • Criminal record check required
