- Directing and managing team members of the Long Term Care Community
- Meeting with families and addressing immediate resident care requirements
- Completing quality assurance assignments
- Ensuring coverage and coordination of emergency response protocols in the absence of other Long Term Care Community managers
- Participating in programs to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the quality of nursing services
- Making independent decisions and applying sound judgment in response to resident care requirements
- Organizing and coordinating nursing with hospitals and the community to meet individual, family, and group needs
- Participating in recruitment, orientation, performance management, and training of team members
- Assisting in maintaining unit team member compliance with facility and service policies and procedures
- Being the RAI MDS 2.0 resource for all participating team members
- Establishing an effective auditing process to ensure RAI MDS accuracy and compliance
- Reviewing and analyzing resident RAI MDS to ensure assessment accuracy and meeting resident needs
- Assuming responsibility for the computerized Data Submission process
- Monitoring and analyzing RAI outputs and reports
- Communicating with the management team and Support Services committees
- Performing other assigned duties
- Degree or diploma in Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse from an accredited university or college
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Medication Administration Certificate meeting the College of Nurses Standards of Practice
- Minimum of 3 years of geriatric and management experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation governing the long-term care sector
- Understanding of current trends and concepts in professional nursing
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current BCLS certificate considered an asset
