    Our client, an Ottawa-based CPA firm, is looking for a Junior Payroll Administrator to join their team on a hybrid basis (3 days a week on-site). If this sounds like a fit for you, keep reading

    About you

    To be considered, you should have:

    • 2+ years of experience in full-cycle union and non-union Canadian payroll
    • College Diploma in Business Accounting, bookkeeping or related field
    • Proficiency in at least one accounting software is required
    • Familiarity with workflow management tools and Microsoft Suite are advantages
    • Capability to handle client payroll needs effectively
    • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
    • Readiness to take initiative and shoulder responsibilities
    • Strong eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to new clients and industries
    • Capability to handle pressure and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment with multiple assignments and deadlines
    • Independence in work and ability to make informed decisions and solve problems

    About the role

    If selected, your responsibilities will include:

    • Managing bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple companies using online or desktop accounting/payroll software
    • Integrating with the clients' books and records
    • Supporting clients for accurate payroll processes
    • Providing requested ad-hoc information and problem-solving for clients
    • Preparing monthly & quarterly reports, including payroll, GST, HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.
    • Efficient communication with the management team
    • Identifying new business opportunities with current clients
    • Maintaining clear documentation for review by partners/managers or external entities (CRA)
