ABOUT THE SOHO:

The luxury of space is central to the promise of an unrivaled experience at The SoHo Hotel.

We pride ourselves in offering some of the largest and most spacious hotel rooms and suites in Downtown Toronto. Redesigned rooms and suites averaging over 600 sq. ft. featuring an 80 sq. ft. dressing area with Canadian maple millwork lead to imported marble bathrooms, heated floors, and Dornbracht fixtures.

This provides the extravagant freedom guests need to relax, our rooms and suites are double the sizes of other luxury hotels in Downtown Toronto.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all aspects of catering operations, including selling, planning, organizing, and executing events
Coordinate with clients to determine their specific needs and preferences
Create customized menus and packages based on client requirements
Manage food preparation, ensuring high quality and presentation standards are met
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., front office, reservations, housekeeping, catering) to ensure seamless event execution
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and organized catering area

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Postsecondary education in hospitality, food services, administration are an asset.
Hotel experience is a must; experience in a Hotel environment is preferred.
Ability to work regular office hours as well as additional hours as required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Accounting software proficiency is an asset.
Ability to multitask and meet assigned deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong sales and marketing skills.
Able to create spreadsheets for sales tracking and forecasting.
