Filling operator - Hybrid (24 hours on weekend & 16 during the week)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform one or more of the following duties on a rotating basis: fill various sizes of bag assemblies with solution, visually inspect each filled bag assembly, insert separator sheets when necessary, place filled bag assembly into protective overwrap, feed overwrapped bag through sealing machine, load overwrap assemblies onto trays.


The Twinbag filling department fills CAPD Peritoneal Dialysis solution into bags which are connected to drainage bags through tubing, Y sites and frangible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Time Spent

Major Responsibilities / Activities
90%

Using scales, weigh filled bags at regular intervals to ensure proper fill volume.


Visually inspect each filled bag assembly for proper fill volume, air volume, code number, expiration date, lot number, and other quality characteristics.

Pick up filled bag assembly from conveyor, position bag in over wrapper spec.

Load overwrapped bag into sealing machine.

Load sealed overwrapped assemblies onto sterilizer trucks ensuring proper number of samples and proper positioning.

Perform necessary inspections including quality checks throughout each step in process.

Document count of rejects. Rework bags when necessary.

Load various sizes of bag assemblies onto filling machine.

Coat end of membrane/injection site with cyclohex and insert into port tube of bag assembly.

Refill cyclohex applicator and port machine.

Set up bags for printer.

Operators are required to keep pace with automated equipment and with other filling operators on the line. Operator sitting and standing varies. Exposed to cyclohex fumes.

Education Level

Required:

  • Successful completion of High School diploma or GED
  • Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties
