What can I expect to do in this role?: In these roles, you will:
- Participate in strategic projects/activities and develop, modify, and enhance business processes to meet the legislative and audit requirements for relevant tax filing and reporting
- Conduct research and analysis of business practices, technology and potential opportunities
- Consult with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop recommendations; consult CRA, tax software vendors and other experts to ensure compliance with CRA requirements
How do I qualify?:
Financial, Accounting and Taxation Knowledge:
- you have knowledge of accounting principles in the public sector
- you have an understanding of government financial management and reporting practices
- you can explain financial and tax reporting requirements to system specialists
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:
- you have knowledge of business analysis methodologies and techniques
- you have the ability to evaluate and synthesize large datasets to identify trends and variances
- you can analyze and investigate issues and develop options and recommendations
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- you have the ability to liaison with stakeholders to gather information and seek clarification
- you can prepare research and briefing notes, analysis report, presentation materials, and business cases
Project Management Skills:
- you have knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies to lead projects and initiatives.
- you have the ability to manage work demands, set priorities and work within tight deadlines
Technical Skills:
- you have knowledge of large-scale financial management systems, business intelligence and analytics
- you have proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
