Your opportunity:


Accessibility Services provides academic accommodations and services for students with disabilities and promotes a fully integrated university experience by ensuring that students have the opportunity to access and participate in all areas of student life.

In partnership with a variety of Student Affairs and Academic departments, Accessibility Services provides comprehensive programming throughout a student's university career to foster greater resiliency and promote the development of knowledge and skills that are transferrable to their future goals.


Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position works as member of the Accessibility Services Exam Team to ensure academic tests/examinations are administered in a manner that is consistent with University of Toronto Mississauga policy.

You will handle sensitive/confidential information so knowledge and awareness of FIPPA is beneficial. Attention to detail is also important for preparing student packages for tests/examinations.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Booking rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations
  • Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
  • Writing routine documents and correspondence
  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
  • Determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming

Essential Qualifications:


  • College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years in an administrative role obtaining and processing detailed information.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a postsecondary institution.
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team in a fastpaced, serviceoriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, tact and discretion
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
  • A solid understanding of disability issues required
  • Must have the ability to exercise good judgment to meet tight deadlines in preparing and delivering test/examination materials
