Position Summary

Reporting to the Coordinator, Concessions, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the smooth operation of concessions with an emphasis on preparing food, serving customers, and maintaining a sanitary work area.

Duties include assisting in providing direction to part-time concession attendants as well as inventory management. This position is a part-time contract aligning with the seasonal operation of Concession venues.

Major Job Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service- Prepare food while maintaining a sanitary work area- Ability to drain and change out oil from deep fryers- Ensure accurate cash handling; balance cash at end of shift- Follow procedures for the opening and/or closing of concessions- Stock shelves and display items in an organized manner- Maintain equipment in an organized and clean manner- Complete all inventory functions/reports- Complete inventory spoilage report at end of shift- Assist in orientation and training of concession staff- Assign work and provide direction to part time concession attendants- Assist with orders, deliveries and inventory management- Assist in special events as required- Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience- Minimum grade 11 education- Minimum one (1) year experience with food preparation and cash handling- Smart Serve Certification preferred- Must possess strong communication and customer service skills- Excellent interpersonal skills- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills as well as mature judgment and diplomacy in sensitive situations- Strong math skills- Excellent planning and organizational skills- Experience using Point of Sale (POS) is an asset; proficient in Windows-based software- Standard First Aid/CPR Certification; Safe Food Handlers Certification is an asset- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector screening is required upon employment
