Fortis is a privately owned company based out of Saskatoon, SK. that provides mining, engineering, and manufacturing services to the mining and construction industries. The company has a global focus that offers contracting, subcontracting, and consulting services to a wide range of customers.

We have an immediate need for highly motivated

Scheduler/Planner. The scheduler is responsible to maintain, optimize and monitor progress of the project schedule and progress, ensuring that Fortis procedures and best practices are applied, as appropriate, and recommending changes to the Project Manager where required.


Project Details:


  • 14/7 schedule; 10hour days
  • Camp job; located on mine site ~2 hours east of Saskatoon.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Lead baseline schedule development and maintenance effort.
  • Assist the project team to update schedule daily.
  • Provide analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues.
  • Assist in coordinating schedule inputs from all parts of the project.
  • Assist the project team to present the project schedule to the client.
  • Expert ability to utilize drawings and specifications as a basis for structuring the project schedule.
  • Conduct or assist in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Lead the preparation of various levels of project reports to meet project needs.
  • Lead project planning and scheduling review meetings.
  • Ensure internal and external deadlines are met consistently.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Technology or a combination of equivalent skills and field experience
  • 3+ years of experience within a projects controls group, construction management and scheduling, healthcare project experience would be considered an asset
  • Advanced MS Project, Excel skills, and Primavera 6 an asset
  • Proficient understanding of all areas within project management
  • Familiar with cost analysis integration and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well independently and with diverse personalities and work force
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problemsolving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
