What we seek**:

OCHC is currently seeking a dedicated Student Project Assistant to join and provide support to the Project Implementation Team.

Under the guidance of the Director, Asset Renewal, the Student Project Assistant will assist with the delivery of capital works plan through the provision of coordination and support for a wide variety of capital projects.

As the Student Project Assistant, you will be an essential part of our objective by providing administrative and technical support in the planning and delivery of capital repairs, renovations, and improvement projects.

**As a
Student Project Assistant, some of the things you will do include**: - Assist Project Manager to maintain up to date project records, files, and other project documents, including preparation of status and other reports.

  • Undertake building condition assessment and other field reviews, including for quality control, verification of deliverables and for alignment to capital planning projects.
  • Review assigned capital projects with Planning and Implementation staff to ensure scope definition and project requirements are clear.
  • Liaise with appropriate staff throughout the project to ensure requirements are met and quality/accuracy is maintained.

What you bring:


Education & Experience:


  • Currently enrolled in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or Architectural Technology, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.

Skills and abilities:


  • Excellent research, analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Previous experience working in a team based office environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work well independently and to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong oral fluency and writing abilities in English.

Other requirements:


  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be between 1530 years of age.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • Must provide CSA approved work boots.
  • A valid Class "G" driver's license is an asset.

Work conditions:

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) hybrid position with on-site attendance as required.
