    Crofton House School is seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach French as an additional language. French is taught in the Junior School from Grade 1-7. The grade levels for this position will be determined by the strengths and experiences of the candidates and the right fit for the program.You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School.     • Responsibilities:

  • Teach French as an additional language
  • Work with Junior School students; the grade level will be determined based on candidate strengths and program needs.
  • Establish lively, engaging classes
  • Integrate French culture into lessons
  • Ensure continuity of language learning competencies in a vertical and horizontal manner across the Junior School in collaboration with colleagues
  • Collaborate with all Junior School teachers
  • Differentiate expectations for language learners
  • Implement and integrate instructional technology to support learning
  • Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, with a focus on the application of the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach.
  • Participate in the Junior School co-curricular program

    • Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Native-like French language skills (oral and written)
  • Familiarity with TPRS an asset
  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level
  • Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail
  • Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community
