Summary


The Scheduler, under the direction of the VP, Business Operations, is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining the primary and resource production schedule of Priestly Demolition Inc.

The incumbent manages the day-to-day production work flow, taking into consideration the long-term requirements.

The Scheduler demonstrates effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy at all times, with strong conflict management and resolution skills.

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain master production schedule for varying departments in MS Projects including progress and milestone reporting.
  • Plan, prepare, issue and control schedules and material requirement to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials.
  • Prepare and present project information to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Attend and contribute to operations meetings, weekly.
  • Manage the daytoday work flow and trafficking for all phases of each project and ensure communication with all departments involved so that deadlines are maintained
  • Continuously taking into consideration longterm requirements for scheduling, up to and including the current year out to 23 years.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress and any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
  • Provide solutions to planned scheduling conflicts immediately
  • Provide alternative scheduling for conflicts that arise
  • Ensure scheduling deadlines are met
  • Work with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes with scheduling
  • Identify and implement planning system and process improvements
  • Work to stabilize the schedule to promote company operations efficiency and effective operations.
  • Collaborate with departments involved and lead necessary meetings if the plan must be changed
  • Any other duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Minimum qualifications

Strong planning experience in construction projects;
Extensive Primavera P6 experience is required;
Proficiency in project, planning & scheduling, controls, project reporting and progress measurement systems;
Proven ability to plan organize, direct, perform, review and present project schedules and related documents;
Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills;
Able to work with diverse groups, from top-level leaders to field third-party contractors.


Preferred qualifications:
Relevant post-secondary degree or technical diploma is required, Accounting, Business Management, or Project Management degree is preferred;
Five (5) or more years of related experience is preferred;
Have used Primavera P6 software to manage project related work. Preference on experience related to mega infrastructure projects;
Field and construction planning experience is considered an asset;
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills to assist in working in a fast paced and evolving work environment
Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills, including ability to present information to a variety of audiences internally and externally
Proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives
Strong interpersonal skills including, collaboration, conflict resolution and cross functional engagement
Experience with B2W and ViewPoint/Vista computer programs

Work Conditions

  • Work requires manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Heavy visual and mental concentration and periods of prolonged sitting are required
  • Occasionally conducts site visits requiring prolonged standing or walking, negotiation of obstacles, and bending or stooping
  • Travel may be required
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required
