    ABOUT THIS JOB

    At Black & McDonald, we are expanding our team in the Mechanical & Electrical ICI sector. If you consider yourself a dedicated and team-oriented professional eager to make a valuable contribution to a dynamic and innovative group, then this opening is tailored for you.

    The position of Electrical Estimator is based in Scarborough and usually reports directly to the Chief Estimator. As the Estimator, you will oversee all aspects of estimating and ensure strict adherence to B&M policies and procedures related to the estimating process.

    You will also engage with clients to maintain a continuous flow of project opportunities and collaborate with suppliers to uphold competitiveness in the industry.

    Duties and responsibilities encompass but are not limited to:

    • Prepare estimates of costs for materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications
    • Offer insights on tendering procedures, assess tenders, and recommend tender awards
    • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-offs, project closures, and operational meetings
    • Establish and manage a list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
    • Communicate and collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors

    Education Requirements

    Graduate of electrical estimating or construction program

    Several years of experience in the electrical construction field

    Work Experience Requirements

    Minimum of 10 years in estimating electrical ICI construction projects, preferably involving P3 projects

    Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

    • Advanced knowledge of estimate closure
    • Interpretation of project electrical designs
    • Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
    • Organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication abilities
    • Self-motivated with strong deadline management

    Advanced user of:

    MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
