    On September 29, 2022, the Ministry of Health (HLTH) announced B.C.'s Provincial Health Human Resources Strategy with 70 actions organized under four cornerstones: retain, redesign, recruit, and train. We are now excited to recruit one of these key roles, Director, Allied Health Clinical Practice, to be part of the FNHA and the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer supporting the BC First Nation communities we serve.

    Title: Director, Allied Health Clinical Practice.
    Salary: $119,068 - $140,080 - $161,092 per year (pay range explained below).
    Contract: Permanent.
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri).
    Location: Metro Vancouver. Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy. Remote work may also be possible Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after April 2024.

    About the role

    Reporting to the Executive Director, Office of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director, Allied Health Clinical Practice, holds delegated authority and line responsibility for supporting FNHA provincial allied health services in British Columbia.

    The Director, Allied Health Clinical Practise is responsible for and accountable for the strategies and leadership of Professional Practice for Allied Health roles within FNHA. Working closely with the CNO, Executive Director, the position supports strategic plans and upholds the vision and values of FNHA through designing, developing, and improving allied health programs in accordance with operational demands. This includes providing guidance on the development of professional standards and practice, scope and regulations, supporting research activities, providing leadership and expert advice on allied health issues, and fostering collaborating and problem solving between programs and professional staff.

    The position provides consultative and advisory services to First Nations communities and FNHA provincial and regional partners regarding clinical practice, quality improvement, and health services delivery pertaining to allied health services and roles.

    About you
    To be successful in this role you will have/be –

  • Master's Degree in a health sciences discipline, preferably allied health profession, supplemented by at least eight (8) years' recent, related clinical and operational management experience in a complex health care environment including progressive clinical practice, education, research, project management and leadership experiences.
  • Current practicing registration with an applicable regulatory body.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of senior leadership experience with responsibilities for strategic programming in a management-level role, including supervision of allied health leaders and clinicians within an organization, across various communities within the Province of BC.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, leadership, or organizations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of First Nations cultures and backgrounds, and the understanding of how culture impacts on communication patterns, attitudes and approaches to health issues.
  • Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles and theories of transcultural allied health to provide culturally safe nursing care.
  • Knowledge of leading practices in leadership and leadership development.

    The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
    Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
    The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

    As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
