    We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Toronto office to enhance our electrical team in Canada. You would be interacting directly with our clients and leading electrical design on complex, innovative and sustainable institutional, commercial and transportation projects from across Canada.

    In Arup we have worked hard to set ourselves up in a way to empower collaboration across boundaries. Our Canadian practice has worked on a number of highly recognizable Canadian projects such as McGill New Vic, New Champlain Bridge, YU New Engineering School, UofT New Medicinal Chemistry Building, Billy Bishop Tunnel, and Finch LRT. In addition, our Canadian engineers have worked on global projects like the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Mexico City Airport and Riyadh Metro.     Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

    · Lead a variety of medium to large-scale complex projects (Transportation, Aviation, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratories).

    · Mentor our junior staff and collaborate with exceptional multi-disciplinary teams using our experience at the local, regional, and global levels.

    · Work directly with our clients and manage key relationships while helping to develop business opportunities.

    · Undertake electrical systems design, predominantly for building projects, including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other signal systems.

    · Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.

    · Prepare and review drawings and specifications detailing the design.

    · Coordinating with multiple disciplines and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete work you're doing.

    · Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.

    · Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.

    · Participating in local Professional Associations.

    · Responsible for quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.

    · Teaching teams to connect their solutions to bigger picture issues.

    · Delivering timely feedback and recognition to others.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    · Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.

    · 8 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.

    · Experience in the application of Canadian Building Codes and Standards.

    · Professional Engineering License in Ontario (PEO).

    · The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment.

    · Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.

    · Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.

    · Minimum of three years' experience on rail or mass transit projects.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems.

    · Experience with BIM and Revit MEP.

    · Experience with power systems modelling using SKM.

    · Project management experience.

    Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
