We are currently looking for a

Smart Meter Data Analyst to join us in supporting NSPs Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution team in a permanent position reporting to the Meter Data Lead.

  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is a secure communication network system that involves advanced communication technology and electricity meters. The meters used in AMI systems are commonly referred to as "smart meters" as they allow for remote twoway communication capability which enables a wide variety of benefits including operational efficiencies that translate into customer savings.
  • As a member of the Smart Meter Operations Centre (SMOC) Team you will join a dynamic group of responsive professionals responsible for performing the tasks required to maintain a highperformance network communications infrastructure.

As a Smart Meter Data Analyst

you will

:

***- Support business functions enabled by AMI data through complex meter data analysis.

  • Contribute to AMI data quality governance tools and processes.
  • Provide analysis, trends, and relationships in data that support existing, emerging, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and support reports from large and complex structured data sets.
  • Develop visually articulate dashboards that convey relevant information based on business requirements.
  • Develop and debug complex SQL queries involving multiple data sources.
  • Develop test cases to validate reports, data sources and data integrations.
  • Lead reporting requirements gathering workshops and demos.
  • Prepare high quality documentation for support processes, data quality management processes, and project deliverables.
  • Manage the Smart Meter Operations Centre's report inventory.

What skills will make you successful?

  • You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science/Informatics/Engineering.
  • 3 years' experience of data analysis in database systems.
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, make decisions and/or recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt as needed to changing priorities.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Experience in meter technologies and utility operations is considered an asset.

Technical skills

:

***- Advanced experience with SQL (PLSQL, T-SQL), relational database querying

  • Experience with data visualization tools (ex., Tableau, Power BI)
:


  • Experience with data quality management including data profiling, assessment, and classification
:


  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Productivity Tools (ex., Sharepoint/Teams)
:


  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Datalake tools is considered an asset

  • Experience with timeseries data is an asset
